Shine On Larry Brown

Bill Davidson and Joe Dumars have allowed ego to replace winning as the future of the Detroit Pistons.

These Pistons were mediocre to poor without Brown on the bench. The bomb scare game - Brown off the bench, Indiana Pacers in town - was such a loser that BrooklynDodger figured it was Joe Dumars phone in the bomb threat. The ruse failed, and Indiana romped the Pistons at home in the regular season.

A sign of Brown's devotion to the game will be taking a concession from $18 million for doing nothing, in order to coach somewhere else. I won't be surprised if he does. Frankly, it will be a close call who BrooklynDodger roots for if Brown's team plays the Pistons, and a no brainer if it's the Knicks.

The man came back very fast from hip replacement surgery. It's unclear whether this, malpractice, or natural variation in response caused the subsequent bladder problem.

All that said, and one game [and a few minutes] from a second championship, a person could raise some issues. Could Brown have contained the technical fouls that Rasheed and Chauncy rained down on the Pistons in the playoffs, and the regular season as well? Could Brown have done something about Ben Wallace's foul shooting? Could Brown have brought Delfino into the game better, which would have made a definite improvement in the 2-3-4 rotation during the playoffs? In the long run, would more minutes for Milicich early on have helped in the playoffs or help next year without hurting last year?
